MARCH 31, 2021 -- Regina Public Schools employees make the difference in the lives and the futures of all of our students. March 22, 2021 -- On Friday, March 19th, Regina Public Schools announced that it would be moving to temporary remote learning, otherwise known as Level 4, effective March 24th for high schools and March 29th for elementary schools. All in-school classes are scheduled to resume on April 12, 2021. Please note that the scheduled Spring Break is from April 2nd to April 9th.

A letter from Director of Education Greg Enion will be sent to all school families on Monday, March 22, 2021 detailing this decision. Any questions should be directed to individual schools.

March 21, 2021 – the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed us that there was one case of COVID-19 at Harbour Landing School. Close contacts have been called and remote learning will begin for affected students.

The school remains open. Letters will be sent to school families on March 22, 2021.

March 19, 2021 -- Regina Public Schools, in consultation and with the support of Regina Medical Health Officers is announcing that it is moving to Level 4, temporary remote learning.

• Effective March 24, 2021, all Grades 9 to 12 high school students will begin remote learning.
• Effective March 29, 2021, all Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 students will begin remote learning.
• All Pre-K to Grade 12 in-school classes will resume on April 12, 2021.
• The scheduled Spring Break is on April 2 to April 9.

School families will receive letters and more information on Monday, March 22nd.

MARCH 15, 2021 -- March 21st is designated by the United Nations (UN) as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination to focus on respect, equality and diversity.

It’s a day observed all around the world to focus attention on the problems of racism and the need to promote racial harmony. The UN made this designation in 1966 to mark a tragic event that took place on March 21, 1960 in Sharpeville, South Africa when 69 peaceful demonstrators were killed during a protest against apartheid.

Canada was one of the first countries to support the UN initiative and launched its first annual campaign against racial discrimination in 1989.

MARCH 10, 2021 -- WorkSafe Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) invite students in Grades 9 to 12 to create a two-minute video about workplace health and safety. The theme "Focus on safety" must be used. Prizes range from $500 to $1,500.

The contest closes on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

MARCH 5, 2021 -- The 2021 Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge (formerly Mosaic Extreme School Makeover Challenge) is now open to all Saskatchewan schools. The Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge encourages grassroots initiatives to promote student nutrition and healthier school environments through nutrition-related activities and programming. Cash awards of $10,000 each will be awarded to 10 successful applicants.

FEBRUARY 26, 2021 -- Public Schools of Saskatchewan will be recognizing public school student groups or classes that support citizenship or character building within their schools or community by providing annual Student Citizenship Awards. Student groups or classes at elementary and high school will be recognized for their contributions. There will be three $1,000 awards for Grades 1 to 8 and three $1,000 awards for Grades 9 to 12.
